A Sudden Gust of Wind and other works
San Jose Dance Theatre
October 7 & 8, 2022 at the Hammer Theatre Center
This mixed repertoire program features a world premiere work suggested by writings from Elizabeth Kubler- Ross called “5 Stages of Grief” It explores the impacts of sudden change in a life’s trajectory. Set to a combined score by Ernest Bloch, Arvo Pärt, Thomas Ades, and others. “Things coming together and then falling apart. Then coming together again and falling apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy and to remember” Foehringer quotes.
Also on the program are two other works from Foehringer’s repertoire. Concerto Grosso set to music by Ernest Bloch and a murder mystery spoof called Rhapsodia to Rachmaninoff’s Theme of Paganini.
